Every business, every businessman or businesswoman, every employee, and every self-employed person in the whole world can register themselves in our directory for free.

What are the entry requirements?
In order to register yourself or your business you need your own valid email address and should have all information in hand you are willing to share with others about yourself or your business.

How up-to-date are the entries?
To make sure that our directory is as accurate and up-to-date as possible, we will contact everyone who registers themselves over email regularly every 2-3 months and ask them to confirm and/or update their entry, which only takes a few clicks of the mouse.
If we cannot contact a member over email for a long period of time, we will unfortunately have to remove that member’s entry from the directory. After a new update of the entry by the member the entry will be automatically re-added to the directory.
Please take note that without a valid email address we cannot contact you with valuable SME-related information and news, and others that are interested in contacting you regarding your business cannot contact you as well.

How is our directory different from others like it?
Our directory is a worldwide international directory and is not limited to a specific country, industry, or professional group.
We do not want to become one of those other online directories whose contents are repeated to give the impression that they have lots of members, or never correct because they have bought the data from some other service and then imported it into their directory.
Therefore we do not centrally maintain or update the data, but rather let each of our members maintain and update their own entry to ensure our directory is as accurate and up-to-date as possible.

Why should I register myself or my company in such a new directory?
At the beginning you will find not very many companies registered in our directory and ask yourself why it’s worth it to register at all.
At present your entry will assure you a high level of recognition as one of only a few entries, and later you will profit from the fact that this directory will become more and more well-known and more and more companies will register themselves and use the directory. In both cases your entry is a free advertisement for yourself or your business.

What information is shown to visitors?
The following are visible to all visitors:
- Name
- Address
- Telephone and fax numbers (including Skype and instant messenger information)
- Up to 5 contact persons including contact information
- Industry classification (Choose from over 1850 descriptions or enter your own)
- Business hours and vacation days
- Any other information that the entrant would like to provide (turnover, number of employees, tax registration numbers, references, etc.)
- Whether or not the entrant offers any discounts or special services to our paying members, and if so what they consist of
E-mail addresses will not be shown, in order to prevent spammers from collecting email addresses from our directory.

How can I contact a directory entrant using email?
Only paying members can contact the businesses and individuals registered in our directory directly over email. E-mail addresses will not be shown and therefore cannot be collected or misused in any way.
When a paying member contacts an entrant by email, the member’s email address registered with IFoSME is shown as the sender of the email. Only if the recipient answers this email do both parties know the email addresses of each other and can communicate freely without using our portal.

What presentation and usage advantages are available to paying members?
Paying members receive preference and special recognition in directory search results and have expanded entry and communication features.
- Up to 25 contact persons including contact information
- Up to 3 images can be uploaded (i.e. business logo, photos of contact persons)
- Possibility to contact other entrants using email
- Ability to present themselves or their company over their own 1-5 page website under the address www.ifosme.org/members/name
What’s this about being able to offer discounts to other members?
When you register your company you are given the opportunity to list any discounts and/or special offers on your company’s products or services you would like to offer to our paying members. Both non-paying and paying members can offer other paying members of IFoSME through the directory. Any offers you decide to make are determined by you only and can be changed as often as you like.To be able to take advantages of the offers of other businesses in the directory, you or your company must be a Bronze member or above of IFoSME, as the offers require that one presents one’s membership card or provides one’s IFoSME membership number (shown on the card) to the offering business in order to be eligible for them. All the more reason to become a Bronze member today!
