Donations
As an organisation concerned with the middle class and small businesses, we take our social responsibility very seriously. We have therefore decided to donate 10% of our members’ dues to humanitarian organisations.
We have decided on a number of possible recipient organisations, which are listed below. When our paying members pay their annual membership fee, they can choose which organisation their specific donation goes to.
Current possible recipients are:
- ALS Research at the Charité hospital, Campus Virchow Clinic, Berlin, Germany
- The Duchess Anna Amalia Library in Weimar, Germany
- The German Red Cross (DRK)
- The International Red Cross (IFRC) & Red Crescent
- The White Ring – Help for crime victims in Germany
- Greenpeace International
- World Wildlife Foundation Germany
- The German Maritime Rescue Service (DGzRS)
- Children’s Hospice Sternenbrücke
In cooperation with our country presidents we will gradually expand this list to include not only German organisations but also similar organisations located in other countries, so our members outside of Germany can have the option of donating to organisations operating in their home country.
When we prepare our yearly balance sheet we will have these donations checked by an accountant and post the certification of the donations on our website.
By mid-2007 we will also post current and continuously updated donation statistics on our website.
